Philanthropy and Voluntary Work

American Friends of Jewish Hospitals and Education Centers of Brazil was designed to share a unified charitable mission with Sociedade Beneficente Israelita Brasileira Albert Einstein (SBIBAE), an organization that has been providing medical services and care since 1955. As a result, American Friends of Jewish Hospitals and Education Centers of Brazil and SBIBAE plan to work together to enhance the quality of healthcare and education in Brazil. American Friends of Jewish Hospitals and Education Centers of Brazil plans to provide financial assistance principally to SBIBAE.

Approximately one thousand people benefit from SBIBAE through the Einstein Program in the Jewish Community.

Through free outpatient care and hospitalization, the Einstein Program assists patients in the Jewish Community who use services at the following Brazilian institutions: Residencial Israelita Albert Einstein, Lar das Crianças da Congregação Israelita Paulista, Berçário Naar Yisrael, União Brasileiro-Israelita do Bem-Estar Social, and Colégio Alef.

SBIBAE invests its own resources in social responsibility and philanthropy programs thanks to support from approximately 600 volunteers. In 2018, it supported non-profit organizations by donating financial resources, materials and equipment worth nearly four million reais. It also funds projects in social organizations and public institutions that focus on oncological research, health care, and education.
SBIBAE contributes to the development of public health care, providing efficient and humanized care at 23 units, while also providing management services in two hospitals through agreements with the São Paulo City Government.
